Briefly then, two big projects are coming to rather lovely fruition at around the same time. The first is Warhouse, the movie I wrote and produced with long-term creative partner, director Luke Massey. That’s now been taken into the very capable hands of the good people of Double Dutch Media Inc. and is off to Cannes next week (as are we) for a market screening. It’s all very exciting and I can’t wait for it to be picked up so people can finally see it. (although I may suffer empty nest syndrome without it to worry about anymore *sniff*)

Secondly, I’m delighted to say that my beloved Improper Books launched last week, and is off to exhibit its wares at the Bristol Expo tomorrow. Improper Books is the imprint created around the collective of writers and artists that initially formed, rather appropriately considering the timing, out of the production team of Warhouse. It’s grown much bigger since and is now a fiercely independent enterprise, based around fair creator-owned deals, with the intention of producing great quality original graphic novels in both print and digital formats. I’m immensely proud of it and the great people involved and can’t wait to show it off. The first two books are dark fairy tales, Porcelain and Butterfly Gate, both written by me and drawn by the rather brilliant Chris Wildgoose, and will be available in B&W previews at Bristol (the finished books will be out later in the year). We have many more projects to come too, including the wonderful Night Post with Laura Trinder.

Between all that and the flood of comments and views on Youtube, it’s been a little overwhelming. It’s so gratifying to know that people really want to see the film we’ve worked so hard on. Watch this space..
